Vision, Mission & Core Values

MISSION STATEMENT:

We exist to Love God, Live the Gospel, and Serve Others.

VISION STATEMENT

Harvest Christian Church strives to be a church where Everyone is Welcomed, Everyone is Needed, and Everyone is Changed for the glory of God.

5 CORE VALUES

Truth- We believe that truth is not a thing but a person; Jesus Christ. We will teach His truth and live it out in our daily lives.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Community- The church exists to seek and save the lost. The only way to do so is to be in community. We will live intentionally in community.
Acts 2:42-27 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Service- We serve a savior that came to serve not to be served and we will emulate that model of ministry.
James 2:14-17 14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Giving- We will give out of our time, talent and monies. We do so not out of guilt or obligation but out of an understanding that we are stewards of His gifts.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Simplicity- We will not participate in over scheduling or scheduling against our families. Instead we will partner w/ our families to be present where Christ called them. We will also focus on what we do best and do those things with excellence.
Matthew 28:18-20 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
